You might already be noticed that I have added new option to this blog – LISTEN to post! Also new button available in Subscribe section – it is Talkr PodCast feed.
What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is a way to tell your personal computer to automatically download audio files onto your mp3 player.
Podcasting requires three components:
- A podcasting server
- A podcasting client (aka a “podcatcher”)
- An mp3 player
The podcasting server stores the audio files that you want on your mp3 player. The server is a largely passive beast. It sits in a swanky colocation facility with air conditioning, dual power supplies and a really big hard drive.
What is Talkr?
Talkr provides a service that allows you to listen to your favorite text-only news sources rather than read them. If you can point Talkr to an RSS or Atom feed (a machine-readable version of your favorite blog or news source) they will convert that feed from text to speech.
Talkr can also provide you with a podcast of your favorite news sources. This means that you can plug your MP3 player into your home computer once a day and Talkr will provide you with hours of audio content with no additional work on your part. Talkr will keep tabs on your feeds and send audio to your computer as those audio files become available.
And the best of all – IT’S FREE!

talkr webpage isn’t loading for me. Will try again later.

What you mean with inappropriate? Like this for Talkr? Ummm, maybe you’re right, but maybe not… This is blog about money making online (money making tips) – blogging is one of ways and I believe that using Talkr can attract more readers to my blog. More readers usually means more earnings too… Or you was thinking about other ads?

Check out YAKiToMe! (http://www.yakitome.com). I has a lot more functionality than Talkr and superior voices IMHO. It’s multi-lingual — speaks English, Spanish, French, … It gives you control over your blog conversion and pronunciation, something that Talkr doesn’t do. It has better RSS feed support. It has web 2.0 sharing/rating features. And it has much better site navigation.
