Design. I am playing with NiggyBuzz Blog Design again. LOL, I just can’t stop I think. The old one was based on K2 theme and I loved it, but site loaded too slow (at least for me). This new one looks nice, but not works good with IE6. What are your thoughts? I don’t use IE at all, I truly believe that Firefox and Netscape are very good browsers, but many NiggyBuzz readers still uses InternetExplorer so I need figure out somehow how to fix this theme… Also I want create new logo – more attractive one. I am not designer or programmer so all these things take a lot of time from me. If you use some different browser (not Firefox or Netscape), please, let me know how site looks for you. If I will not able to fix this new design in few weeks I will probably go back to old one…

And now about new option to advertise on this blog – ScratchBack. This is one really fun way to advertise, basically it’s just an online tip jar where friends, readers and fans of a blog can make a donation, and in addition to good karma, they get a text or image ad that appears in the widget. ScratchBack is an online “tipping” system. It allows you, the publisher, to accept tips and “give back” links or images in return. You name your price on your tips, and you earn money from every interaction through easy-to-use automated system. It’s free to sign-up, and you can have a TopSpot widget on your website or blog in minutes. Technically people are buying ads on your site, but you’re not really “selling” ads, you’re accepting tips. Advertisers (your readers) do get something in return; a link or an image that displays on your site, but it’s not an ad buy. They’re “scratching your back”.

You can find NiggyBuzz Blog ScratchBack in our side bar, every tip costs only $1, using Auto-Bump (This is the default method for setting up a TopSpot. Auto-bump means that every time somebody new tips you, that person moves to the top of the TopSpot list. Example: If you have 10 TopSpots available, and Reader A is in the #1 spot, and Reader B tips you after Reader A, then Reader B moves into the top spot, pushing Reader A one spot down. This also means that eventually, Reader A will be pushed off the list completely). It’s really fun! Yesterday I visited some blogs with this widget and ScratchBacked them .

We use CommentLuv Plugin

Did You know that we use CommentLuv Plugin on this blog? We really do! I believe it is nice way to show even more love to our commentators. Yes, I want make money with blog, but I also want keep this blog interactive, I do believe that good blog is blog where both sides – blogger and readers are active.

What is CommentLuv Plugin and what it does?

This is an excellent way to promote comments from your readers. The CommentLuv Wordpress Plugin will visit the feed of the comment author and attempt to scrape the last post they made and display it under their comment, this way you can encourage people to join in the discussion of your posts and give something back straight away.

The plugin looks for a feed in the default location of /feed/ for Wordpress users, in /feeds/posts/default for Blogspot users and /atom.xml for Typepad users.

It is easy to use, just download, unzip, upload and activate – that’s all!

Some Updates and Goals

Hello!

This post is for some updates about this blog and about some goals which I set for myself and this blog, and – of course I will not reach those goals without help, without readers and supporters. It’s just normal. Any site (not only blog) can’t survive for long if there are no readers, visitors, sponsors etc., etc…

For first I must update you about our $25 Contest which should be closed on August 10th, but because I was really busy with getting all needed stuff for my daughter (new school year) and our camera (I wanted make video with how I do lottery) was broken… well, let me please extend that contest till September 30th.

Now, few words about blog theme. I upgraded this blog to WP 2.3 Beta 1 version, if you find any bugs, please let me know. And I changed layout a bit – now I use K2 Nightly theme which is really great and easy to customize! So colors are same as was but just in new layout. If I understand right – K2 Nightly is in Beta stage so if youfind any bugs with theme – you know why, but to say truth I don’t see any theme errors right now.

And last but not least – about goals. I am always a bit scared about setting goals – no one don’t likes set goals and then – not reach those… But ok, I will take some risk LOL. My 1st goal will not be something “UH, AH”. All I want is to reach at least 10 replays on each Comment Friday and 100 RSS Subscribers on October 1st.

You Asked – What NiggyBuzz Means…

Well, as promised – here is story about what this blog name means – NiggyBuzz.

To say in one word – Nothing! Really!

Niggy was my very first username on net and I still use it for my PTR Program (Paid To Read), I am owner of 1.

Where did I got that name? Hehehe… My name is Inga. Time to time I write SMS to my husband and when I write fast (when I want say more things in less words and faster LOL), I write very wrong, with lot of typos. So one day I wrote at end of SMS not Inga as usually but Nigga (typo!). Later he show me that message and we was laughing and then – I found if I change last character to “y” it could be nice nickname for me (we just got our very first internet connection). That’s the all story!

I named my first PTR program “Niggy Emails” and in PTR world people knows me as Niggy much more than as Inga or IngaOz.

Some time later I wanted site where I can put all my stuff in – my money maker programs, my designs etc. and was thinking on domain name. All good ones was already registered… Then the only good thing that I could think about was put something together with my Niggy username and that’s how I got NiggyBuzz. As for me – I think it sounds very nice together. No? Just read it like you see (not Naigi or Naidzi).
